The address of 2492 Yonge Street is a true piece of Toronto’s history. Before becoming home to The Castlefield Theatre, the site has witnessed nearly a century of change. Built in 1918 as The Capitol Theatre, the site was originally used for vaudeville and records from the City of Toronto Archives show that in 1924 a balcony was added. In 1933 the space began functioning as a movie theatre – in fact, the projector booth, with its walls since removed, is now a bar.

Meticulously restored to its original 1918 grandeur, its elegance is complement with up-to-the-minute amenities, bringing together the most charming of spaces with all the stateliness of a modern venue.

Boasting a magnificent ballroom, stunning mahogany bars and 45 foot high vaulted ceilings. The Castlefield Theatre can play host to large-scale events, yet is easily configurable for intimate affairs.
